Wine

Tyrrell's Johnno's Shiraz draws from vines planted in 1908 at the edge of Mary Ann's Creek in Pokolbin. Of all of Tyrrell's iconic Shiraz, this is the only one to be grown on light, sandy alluvial soils.

This planting represents some of the rarest vines in the world. The vines' origins lie in the Busby Collection, a selection of grapevine cuttings brought from Europe to Australia by James Busby in 1832.

The grapes are handpicked and sorted in the vineyard. Fermentation occurs in open vats using only natural yeasts. The wine then matures in a single new French oak cask for 15 months.

Inky garnet, Tyrrell's Johnno's Shiraz is a classic 1960s style Hunter Valley red, medium bodied and spicy with great length and acid structure. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
