The Prince Iberian Blend
Wine
Stanton & Killeen The Prince Iberian Blend is comprised of Portuguese grape varieties traditionally used for Vintage Ports: Touriga Naçional, Tinto Cão, Tinta Roriz, Souzão and Tinta Barroca
The wine honours the late Chris Killeen, sixth generation winemaker who was nicknamed the 'Prince of Port' by fellow Rutherglen vignerons. He planted the Portuguese varieties in the 1990s.
The best parcels of fruit are co-fermented in open top vats, ensuring greater integration of the flavours and tannins. The ferments receive hand plunging and foot treading.
The wine is then transferred to French oak puncheons, half new and the remainder one and two years old, to mature for 12 months.
Cherry red, Stanton & Killeen The Prince Iberian Blend is medium bodied, balancing fruity and savoury notes, fine tannins and a long, silky finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
