Adelaide Hills Nebbiolo
Wine
S.C. Pannell Adelaide Hills Nebbiolo is a blend of five Nebbiolo clones all hand harvested from a vineyard at Gumeracha in the cool climate Adelaide Hills.
The fruit is crushed into small open fermenters to ferment with natural yeasts. In the style of traditional Barolo wines, it sees extended maceration on skins, with the decision of when to press made purely on taste.
The wine completes malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, then is transferred to seasoned Hungarian oak puncheons and large vats to mature for 14-16 months.
Crimson red, S.C. Pannell Adelaide Hills Nebbiolo is medium bodied yet unashamedly tannic, with earthy, leathery tones. Cellaring potential is 12 years.
