Wine
Clyde Park Estate Shiraz is sourced from two separate parts of the estate vineyard: one on the alluvial upper flats of a natural amphitheatre, the other on a steep north facing slope.
The two Shiraz blocks have tough soils, limiting vine vigour and producing low yields of intensely flavoured fruit. The difficult yet rewarding terrain consists of volcanic loams over clay, littered with rocks and stones.
The wine sees whole bunch influence to add complexity, and is fermented with wild yeast. It matures for 10-12 months in French oak barrels, up to one third new.
Light crimson red, Clyde Park Estate Shiraz has delicate cool climate structure with fine tannins, smoky oak and a long, savoury finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
