College Block F Pinot Noir
Wine
Clyde Park College Block F Pinot Noir is sourced from a 0.7 hectare block of vines planted in 1988 – Clyde Park's oldest Pinot Noir.
Block F grows on a shallow, north facing slope in black volcanic clay loams. It produces consistently low yields of intensely flavoured yet balanced fruit. The vines, MV6 clone Pinot Noir, are all hand harvested.
The grapes are open fermented with wild yeast and some whole bunch inclusion – up to 100 per cent in some years. Once pressed, the wine matures in new and seasoned French oak barrels for 8-12 months.
Cerise red, Clyde Park College Block F Pinot Noir bursts with berry flavours, charry oak and integrated tannins, with a lively acid backbone. Cellaring potential is seven years.
