150 Year Old Vines Semillon
Wine
Château Tanunda 150 Year Old Vines Semillon is drawn from low yielding ancestor vines at Vine Vale in the Barossa Valley, planted even before the construction of the Château itself.
Some of the world's oldest ungrafted Semillon vines, they are picked early in the morning. The fruit is gently pressed and cold settled before a long, cool ferment. A small portion is wild yeast fermented in new French oak.
Six months of barrel maturation in seasoned French oak follows. Regular lees stirring enhances the wine's structure while building complexity. In keeping with its minimal intervention style, the wine remains unfined.
Pale straw, Château Tanunda 150 Year Old Vines Semillon has lively citrus and stone fruit flavours, sharp acidity and a lingering finish. Cellaring potential is 10 years.
